MoveYourMoney"Tucson "The Big Short"

For Community Banking Month this April, Local First Arizona is hosting a free film screening of The Big Short at Case Video Film Bar in Tucson. The Big Short spotlights the role Wall Street and big banks played in the 2008 Financial Crisis in an engaging story of four financial buffs trying to bet against the housing market. So, if the 2008 Financial Crisis left you with questions, this film aims to answer them - and who is responsible. Come early and grab a drink with Local First AZ before the film.

WHY WE ARE SCREENING THE BIG SHORT FILM:

93% of all Arizonan's bank deposits are controlled by out-of-state banks
Large Wall Street entities don't serve the needs of our community
Money deposited in local banks and credit unions recycles back into your community quickly
Community Banking Month encourages you to put your money to work growing your local economy
Local banks and credit unions keep decisions local and answer to you, the investor at home
ABOUT THE FILM:

When four outsiders saw what the big banks, media and government refused to, the global collapse of the economy, they had an idea: The Big Short. Their bold investment leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking where they must question everyone and everything. Based on the true story and best-selling book by Michael Lewis (The Blind Side, Moneyball), and directed by Adam Mckay (Anchorman, Step Brothers) The Big Short stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.
